HOLISTIC GROOMING:
Holistic Grooming is the practice of providing the most relaxing and stress-free environment possible for your pet by eliminating stressful practices and providing a calming environment. We use only the most gentle chemical-free products, infuse our salons with relaxing essential oils, minimize your pet's stay to 1 to 2 hours, and do not use cage dryers. Consistent grooming provides your pet with confidence and style; pets certainly know when they are clean and looking good. Well-groomed pets are happier, better behaved, healthier, and more outgoing. Just like all of us, they feel good when they look good. Tabby & Jack's offers a complete line of fine grooming services to bring out the best of appearance and personality in any breed. We work carefully, never rush, and do not overbook appointments. We always take our time and do it right. Our grooming categories may be described as follows:
Basic Bath and Brush
This is an essential service that maintains the appearance and hygiene of your pet. Each Basic Bath and Brush service at Tabby & Jack's includes:
- Highest quality shampoos and conditioners free of any chemicals
- Velocity dryer (we never use cage dryers!)
- Full brushing out
- Nail trimming
- Ear cleaning
- Expression of glands (dogs)
Your dog or cat will look fuller, healthier, and more colorful. They will look and feel younger... and smell terrific!
Light Groom
This service includes all Basic items above plus our professional groomers will trim the hair around:
- Paws
- Ears
- Eyes
- Loose ends
- The potty and private areas
- Other places as required
This is less expensive than a full haircut and appropriate for dogs and cats who want to maintain the current length of their coat, but simply need a clean-up and a sanitary trim.
Custom Professional Groom
This service consists of a full haircut from nose to tail, usually using scissors and clippers. Haircuts start with a full bath, brush, and blow dry, and include all the elements described in the packages above. You decide exactly how you want your pet to look, how long or short the hair should be, and whether your pet should look full bodied or slim. Tabby & Jack's groomers will work hard to give your pet the individual look you want that will assuredly bring out the essence of its personality.

The most important element in determining the quality of pet grooming is the experience and artistry of the groomer. Tabby & Jack's has five of Madison's most experienced and talented groomers. Each of our groomers has ample experience in professional grooming. While each person tends to specialize in a breed or size, they each groom all breeds of dogs and cats with superior ability.

Kelsey P - Kelsey is an artist by education and by heart. She loves putting her skills to work on all breeds of dogs. Being a dog stylist is a great fit for her, bringing her love for art and dogs together. Kelsey graduated from the Wisconsin School of Professional Dog Grooming. Evidenced by the terrific following she has built, Kelsey will cheerfully and patiently groom any dog or cat, providing a keen eye towards creativity and precision. Equally comfortable with large or small dogs, long hair or short, Kelsey's expertise is skillfully demonstrated across a wide range of dogs, from Golden Retrievers to Malamutes, from Chihuahuas to St. Bernards. Kelsey's proficiency at scissoring and shaping makes her perfect for breeds where extra care is appreciated.
Elicia - Professional Dog and Cat Groomer (Primarily mobile grooming)
Elicia is our Mobile groomer that travels to your home with our state of the art mobile grooming van. For over 7 years, she has established and maintained a loyal clientele that look forward to Elicia's incredible grooming skills. Her clients' pets happily enter the mobile van with confidence knowing Elicia will treat them with a gentle hand and warm heart. Because seniors and cats are more stressed with travel, they do particularly well in the mobile grooming van in Elicia's care. Elicia is also available instore on Saturdays and periodically during the week.
Pricing
There are many variables in pet grooming, such as whether your pet has long or short hair and also if the hair is matted and tangled. Therefore, there is no set pricing for fine grooming. Our groomers set individual prices for each pet, largely based on the time required to complete the chosen service. Factors which determine the price of a service include:
- Amount of scissor work
- Brushing
- Clipping
- Degree of matting
- Difficulty of the cut
- Disposition of the animal
- Drying time
- Length of hair
- Size of pet
However, you will find our prices quite reasonable. We will be happy to quote you a price range over the phone, and we invite your inquiries.
Grooming and Spa Options
- De-shedding: $15 and up. (rejuvenates the coat)
- Deep Coat Conditioning: $5 and up (depends on length and thickness of coat)
- Teeth brushing: $12
- Teeth Scraping: $25 and up. (includes teeth brushing)
- Nail trimming: $12 (but included with any bath or haircut)
- Paw moisturizing treatment: $5
Grooming at Tabby & Jack's is available 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm. Please be on time with your appointment and expect to pick up your dog within 1 to 2 hours. Keeping your pet's stay as short as possible is part of our holistic practice. Shorter stays with few dogs in our salon creates a more relaxing environment.
Stephanie - Professional Dog and Cat Groomer. Grooming in Madison for over 8 years, Stephanie is in high demand for her incredible scissoring skills. She specializes in bichons, poodles and shih tsu's. Steph also specializes in cat grooming and owns 3 cats of her own.
Becky B - Grew up on a dairy farm with a true passion for all animals. After high school, she decided to follow that passion and go to grooming school. She graduated at the top of her class from the Wisconsin School of Professional Dog Grooming. She came to Tabby & Jack's eager to learn and practice the particulars that are holistic grooming. Becky is eager to meet you and your fur baby.
Jackie (Picture coming soon!) - Is a seasoned groomer with 14 years of experience. She has a special interest in sporting dogs, but with her incredible scissoring skills, she can't resist poodles and bichons! Jackie's calming personality is a great fit for high anxiety dogs. Jackie is available at both our Fitchburg salon and our Capitol Square salon.
Michelle Lonergan - Professional Dog Groomer/Owner of Tabby & Jack's. Michelle has been grooming dogs since she was 14 years old. Her mother owned a grooming business and taught Michelle how to groom, while creating a stress-free environment for her clients. After her mother retired from grooming, Michelle took over her mothers holistic grooming business until she set off for college. After a 20 year break, Michelle began grooming again when Tabby & Jacks opened in 2007, and is enjoying her work with animals once again!
